To visit Pisa is above all to marvel at Piazza dei Miracoli, an architectural ensemble of rare coherence. The flagship monument remains the bent tower, whose spectacular inclination has fascinated for centuries. This unusual campanile must not occult the Cathedral of Our Lady of the Assumption, masterpiece of pisan Romanesque art with grey and white marble facades. Once at the station of Pisa Centrale, the railway network makes it easy to radiate to Florence, Lucca or the Cinque Terre. To travel within the city, public transport (CTT Nord bus) effectively quadruple the territory, linking the station to Place des Miracles in about ten minutes. However, Pisa's human size strongly encourages walking or cycling. Crossing the historic centre from one end to the other takes only twenty minutes, thus offering complete freedom to discover its hidden charms.
