Checkpoint Charlie

The most famous border crossing point between East and West Berlin.

This former military checkpoint became the ultimate symbol of the Cold War confrontation, famously serving as the theater for a tense standoff between US and Soviet tanks in 1961. Today it features a replica guardhouse and an outdoor exhibition.
