One of the two remaining natural islands in the Seine River, the Île de la Cité is the historical and geographical center of Paris where the medieval city began. It houses some of the city's most significant and ancient monuments, including the Notre-Dame Cathedral, the stunning stained glass of Sainte-Chapelle, and the Conciergerie.
